Last week someone asked me if Craig was the same Craig from before the accident. I have thought a lot about that question. First off, I don't think anyone can go through what he went through and come out the same. It was just too intense of an experience not to be changed in some way. Second, while all the pieces of the old Craig are still here, they are in a slightly different package. Whether that will change or not as time goes on is anybody's guess. We are seeing more cognitive awareness and maturity in his actions of late. He has come to an awareness of his physical limitations regarding football, and while that is a very sobering reality for him to face, I think it indicates a higher level of understanding on his part. We have been able to eliminate another prescription drug (coumadin), which he was on due to the blood clots he developed while in ICU. There is only one left, baclofen, which is to help control muscle tone. Hopefully we can reduce that one soon as well.
Craig is going to back working at Red Lobster soon, so you locals be sure to drop in and say hello. Our screensaver on our PC pulls pictures from random picture files on our system. Lately, it has been displaying photos from the Aug/Sept hospital time. When I walk by and see these pictures it is both difficult and remarkable to see where we were not so long ago.
