Craig is listening to his ipod tonight, sitting slumped down in a chair with his feet up. When each new song starts,
he gives us a nod (good song, keep it) or a negative shake of the head (bad song, change it). On Saturday and Sunday the rehab
schedule changes and they let him sleep in during the morning, with a longer afternoon session. This seems to suit him fine,
and he had a really good afternoon workout. At night we are still sneeking out for a walk through the halls, with some walking
and standing exercise mixed in.

Craig has officially been moved from Transitional Care to Rehab. This means we get another new room, now 2115. Same floor,
same hall, just all the way to the end on the right. This is his 4th, and hopefully last room change. It also means he will
begin a more intense and more structered rehabilitation schedule. We were pleased to see his weight today, up 3 lbs from earlier
this week. Hopefully this will continue and we can get some weight back on him. If anyone would like to donate unwanted or
excess pounds, let us know.

A new video clip is posted above (Video 2). This is Craig walking today with the help of Brian, one of the therapists.
He is able to walk further each day, and with more of his own balance and support.

We did a little after hours walking with Craig tonight in the hospital hallways. I don't think the PT people will mind....but
we went up to the 4th floor anyway. I think we will try and post a new video of his walking in the next day or two. When we
got back to the room, he reached down and took off his socks (!?). He is also trying very hard to crack his neck, like
he used to do, using both hands on his head. For those of you who know Craig, you will remember that he could make you
cringe with the cracks he could get out of his neck.

While Craig was tired this morning, he had a real good workout this afternoon. His walking, time on the stepper, and
other excercises were the best we have seen. He also mastered the drinking straw today, which will help a lot with meals.
Our goal for this week is vocalization. We really need him to start talking again, so that we can increase the level of communication.

More experiments with food today. We are getting a pretty good list of likes and dislikes from the hospital menu. On
the good list are peaches, pears, yogurt, pudding, oatmeal, potatoes, and some beef dishes. I won't list the items on the
bad list, but they are mostly green and/or grey. Today Craig was able to walk with the support of just one therapist, which
means that he is supporting more of his own weight and balancing better. His walking has advanced quite a bit in just one
week.
